Father Jean Lefeuvre, a Jesuit who arrived in Taiwan more than 50 years ago, is a world-renowned expert in oracle bones inscriptions. He has been also one of the main contributors to the “Grand Ricci” Dictionary, the world largest dictionary between Chinese and a foreign language. His latest publication, released in August 2008, is an analytical catalogue of 412 collections of oracular inscriptions. It is the world’s most complete repertory of sources related to the origins of Chinese writing. This hard-cover, 593 pages strong volume will be launched on September 19, at Tien Educational Center, Taipei Fr Lefeuvre, at 86, is still working hard on the completion of a Dictionary of Bronze Inscriptions.
